Frequently Asked Questions
What is Off-Grid Solar?
The term off-grid solar is used in any electrical system that operates without being connected to the local electrical grid.
What can an off-grid system power?
You can power anything that operates on 120/240V AC or 208V 3 phase.
What is an inverter?
An inverter is used to convert the direct current (DC) that solar panels provide into alternating current (AC) which is more practical and therefore used in most applications.
How long can the solar system last without sunlight?
Our off-grid solutions utilize batteries to store power during times of excess to use when the sun isn't shining. Designs typically range from 3-7 days of autonomy depending on individual power needs.
How reliable are these systems?
In the event of a failure in the system, there are multiple failsafes to ensure the continuing operation of your power network including optional generator support and built-in load management. With the best monitoring available, you will always be able to tell exactly how your system is running.
Is off-grid right for my project?
In remote locations where access to grid power is limited or unavailable, off-grid solar is the best solution because of its versatility and effectiveness. Because of the modular design of our systems, we can scale for any situation big or small. Having independent control of your energy source also provides security in times of widespread power outages.
How durable are the panels?
Our panels are specifically made for off-grid systems with rugged mounting systems capable of handling hurricane-level winds up to 170 miles per hour.
What is the warranty for the system?
Batteries come with a 5 year warranty, controllers and inverters come with a 10 year warranty, and panels come with a 25 year warranty.
